ICONIC ALBUMS FROM TANZANIA.
HIP-HOP music has grown over the years from just being something for a certain group of people, but instead it has spread across the world, and almost everyone listens to some HipHop.
Tanzania has plenty of rappers doing their thing repping the country on international stage and keeping fans satisfied with diverse rap taste from different rappers with different styles.
Over the years I have been a huge hip hop fan, it's my favorite music genre and the artistry that goes into composing HipHop tapes fascinates me a great deal.
This is a list of four of my favorite HipHop projects from Tanzania as of the publication of this article:
1. KITAAOLOJIA BY FID Q
This 23 track master piece released in 2019, FidQ reminds other rappers of his position as the greatest of all time "Mzee mbuzi", and they should get their lines ready before trying to challenge him.
Fid Q features other artists like Chin Bees, Rosa Ree, Saida Karoli, and some artists from the new wave of Tanzanian creatives calling themselves "nu bongo"

2. A.K.A MIMI BY NGWAIR(1982-2013)
Albert Mangwea was one of the sickest Mc's to ever grace the mic, this was his debut album with P funk majani, the album is rich in rap, story-telling, and rhymes, some would even argue it was ahead of it's time.
Favorite tracks are "ghetto langu" and "mikasi" even though the entire project has a wonderful flow to it when listened to in order.

3.MASAKI THEORY BY BRIAN SIMBA.
Talk about living that city life, growing up in Dar es Salaam, this is the perfect tape for it, Brian Simba takes you through the streets of "Masaki", the ladies, and the night life, all this in a single tape, that is perfectly paced and put together to build up to a central theme.
Featured in the album is Freshlikeuhh, Avid, tofajaxx, braxxx, and plenty more from the motherland Tanzania.

4.AFTERTHOUGHTS BY FRESHLIKEUHH
This rapper has his own style of rapping and playing with words, his pen game is wicked, all his tracks paint a picture and he has his way with making the pictures appealing.
It's a very diverse album, its taste, the tracks were carefully written, the delivery was amazing, and so are the instrumentals.
Favorite song is: E SIDE, Track is very clean, surprisingly I never hear any of this on any mainstream media in Africa or Tanzania.
