THE OTHER SIDE OF TOMORROW

How to punch anxiety in the face.

Have you ever caught yourself red-handedly in the middle of doubting yourself? Count all the times, whether from a good idea or a bad one, and try to remember the reason for that doubt.

When I typed this article on my computer, I already had something in mind before I sat down, I had just came from the bathroom and I thought to myself “this is a brilliant idea”,

And let it be known amongst you dear readers that I was suffering from a little creative block on that specific day, so having an idea was like ‘come in have a blanket and this warm chicken soup after a long stroll in the cold rain’ sadly after I typed in the tittle it was followed by a very long period of me staring at the blinking cursor with warring noises in my head.

Now, is this what anxiety-fear of the future- is? Or was it just elongation of the illness “the creative block”. Whatever it was, it was surely coming from inside, and after a little assessment, I found out it was because of a few reasons.

I was scared that I was going to write a bad story, so every idea that came to my head faced strong rejection and hence the block. It’s not a bad thing to have an idea fest in your head as a creative, for you must always let the best win, but what is wrong is going far into the future and deciding a story is bad even before a word of it is even written.

This anxiety will prevent you having your great idea and it will be out of the reason that they were bad ideas, that will always remain a mystery but it won’t stop because you were afraid of something that isn’t there and lost faith in your ability.

We fear many times that have not yet come, and we let our heads get absorbed in that until we forget what is really needed, same can come to living life, thinking of your problems is just thinking of them and that won’t do a thing until you start solving them, this anxiety will stop you from seizing the day for you will be spending it in your head and not here in the real world where all the sweet you only taste, see, feel, touch, and smell actions are taking place.

When fear overcomes the faith in our own abilities, we start doubting what we are capable of and start thinking of what we are not capable of, it becomes a rat chase, and you are the rat running in a walled room with no door or holes and your fear is the big black cat known for its ferocious acts against mice, you can run all you want but that would be delaying the inevitable.

If tomorrow was determined by our fears we could have never amounted to anything, that great feeling of finally having it, the triumph that you finally did it, weather society has approved or not but you have accomplished what was a goal to you, could have been a long lost myth, all of our stories are stories of how we conquered fear, it might be told from a single individuals point of view but we all relate to them and that’s what makes them great stories,

In every moment you find yourself facing anxiety remember you’re not defined by it, but it’s by how you face it and see that other side of tomorrow.
